Today’s VWER meeting introduced a new book from Princeton UP, Ethnography and Virtual Worlds: A Handbook of Method. Two of the authors were at the meeting, but I’m not sure which ones (SL© names, you know). I guess they were the Tom and Celia authors! It’s about time there were good guidelines for this type of research, because there is so much amateur and botched research that can and, as I’ve heard, has occurred in Second Life®.
I didn’t have time to change into something more professional, but then the guy in front of me was in a top hat, so maybe I wasn’t overdressed.
